To import a drawing transfer file into EasyEst Estimating, choose File/Transfer/Import CAD Drawing.... The CAD/Drawing Import dialog box will appear.
The CAD/Drawing Import dialog box contains the following options:
Directory for Drawing Files
Enter the drive and the directory where the conversion file is located. Example: C:\DRAW. Once you set the directory, you will not need to enter it again. You may also click on the Directory for Drawing Files button to select the directory from a standard directory-select dialog box.
Drawing Interface File Name
Enter the conversion file name. (When you converted the drawing to estimating in the drawing program, you gave it a name.) To select from a standard file open dialog box, click on the Drawing Interface File Name button, which also acts as a label for the field where you can type the name of the file.
Combine Like Items Add Quantities
Some CAD/drawing programs do not combine similar Items and add their quantities before sending them to estimating. Check this check box to combine incoming CAD Items that have the same Item Code or CAD ID, Miscellaneous value (if any), and Location (if any). Note that you cannot combine the Items later, so we suggest you combine the Items here.
Put CAD Items In You may send the newly-imported CAD Items to either the Item Selection Worksheet or the Bid Item List. We suggest you send choose Item Selection Worksheet so you may review the incoming Items and assign them to Price Book Items.
Import After setting the correct path and transfer file name, activate the clicking on this button. The Symbols/Objects/Assemblies from the drawing export file will be imported into the current bid.
Cancel Just closes the dialog box without importing.
Help Brings up the help message.
