Cost Type List

Cost Types represent specific summary of costs or expenses associated with Items (e.g., types of material, labor, equipment, etc.). Each Item can have 5 Cost Types assigned to it under the Classes (a cost type can only be used once per Item). Costs are calculated for each Cost Type, so that you can get a summary total of the different cost types for the Bid.

All Items in the bid use particular cost types and will be calculated using the Class percentage which the Cost Type is placed. If you want to see which Bid Items make up this total then select Cross Reference from the Tools menu.

Code Enter a Code to identify the Cost Type. If, when building an item, you did not enter a type code the system will assign a "0".

Description Enter up to 12 characters.

Class Enter the first letter of Material, Labor, Subcontractor, Equipment, or Other so this Cost Type can draw the Tax percentage entered on the Markup List. This allows you to combine across several cost types and group them into a class summary Report. All items that refer to this Cost Type Code will be "marked up" by the Class’s tax or burden percentage.

Total Raw Cost All of the Items’ Raw Costs which have this Cost Type Code are added together. For systems with the optional Adjustment feature, this column is called "Total Adj. Cost" and includes Adjustment Percentages added to each Item Cost Column.

Cost Markup This is the amount of all Cost Markups applied to costs in the Cost Type (for display only). Change these amounts in the Markup List.

Total Cost The Raw Cost amount and the Class amount have been added which is the cost of all items that use this Cost Type.

Price Markup This is the amount of all Price Markups applied to costs in the Cost Type (for display only). Change these amounts in the Markup List.
