Using the Find "Match If" Command

 

 

 

If you are "Finding or Replacing" and in a Number or a Text field, then the following selections will be displayed. You may click on the down arrow box to see them. If you are replacing, you might want to "Save As" your bid so you may revert to it if your replacing doesn’t work the way you want after multiple replaces.

 

Below "Filter" means your Find What or search criteria such as a number or a word.

Text

Contains

Will find your filter if it is embedded in the text. If Ignore spaces is checked, than it will find across spaces.

Text

Different From

Will find just the opposite of "Contains".

Text

Begins with

Will find only if at the beginning of the field.

Ends with

Will find only if at the end of the field.

 

 

 

Any

Exact Match

Will find only if it matches character by character.

Any

Any Value

If you are replacing than selecting this will replace ALL records. Not available in the Find dialog box.

Text

Does Not Contain

Will find just the opposite then "Exact Match".

Any

Less Than

Will not find it, but all less than it.

Any

Less Than or Equal

Will find it and all less than it

Any

Greater Than

Will not find it, but all greater than it

Any

Greater or Equal

Will find it and all greater than it
