In order to correctly insert the records (lines) you have tagged, the system will automatically give you the first available block of unused Codes starting at where the cursor is located.
You may override this Code by typing in another Code. However, it might give you an error message since it will NOT copy over existing codes or if there is not enough room to place them, i.e., If you are copying too many Items into a subdivision since an item in a subdivision can only have as it's highest Code "99".
NOTE: In order to update costs in older bids, Item Codes are used. If you change the Item Codes in the master Price Book, then those items (or worse- wrong items with wrong prices) will not be updated correctly. Be very careful when changing ANY code numbers, including budgets, cost types, questions, etc.
The same applies to Super Assemblies, Workpackages, Cost Tables, Formulas, etc.
