The Bid Item Sequence Column designates an order of Bid Items. Using this will allow you to return to this sorted order even if you have re-sorted in another column.
When you add or insert additional items, the next highest number will be automatically given to those items. Once you have items moved around in the order that you want, you can renumber them to keep them in your custom "Bid Item Sequence order." The way this is done is by going to the Bid Menu and selecting "Renumber Sequence."
