Lesson 7: Editing In a Form

So far, you have just seen List windows, with one record (such as an Item) displayed on each line.

If you want to see more information about an Item in the list, use a Form. A Form is window which displayed all (or at least most) of the information about a single Item (or other data record). Forms are available for the Bid Items and the Price Book Items, and in other places for optional features.

To get to the Form window, select Edit in Form from the Tools menu, or just press the F9 key.

At the bottom of the form will be buttons to help you to move to other records and do other common operations:

First Record. (Causes the first record, e.g., the top Item in the Bid Item List, to be displayed in the Form.)

 Previous Record

 Next Record

Goes to the Last record, a blank record used to Add New records.

Delete Deletes the currently-shown record.

Memo Brings up a Memo window to type in a memo (note) to be associated with the current record.

Cancel Closes the window without saving changes (if any) to the current record.

Done Closes the window and saves any changes to the current record.

Continue to next lesson: Memos.
