This feature allows you to see all Items which make up a line on a summary List. This is very useful feature when you want to see why a certain cost is out of range, e.g., Division's cost may be too high.
In the Price Book Item List, it is handy to globally change a lot of items to a different value so that the next time you use those item in a bid, it will have the value you want. Remember: If you are in the Price Book, you are not changing a bids' items but your master Price Book Items. You may also see all the Super Assemblies that make up that line's total.
In the Bid Item List, you can change many costs using the same process. If their are several items in your bid with quantities and costs, then choose one of the Summary Lists (Division, Budgets, etc.) off the Price Book Menu. Move to a line with a cost and select Cross Reference off the Tools Menu or press the Cross Reference key Ctrl+O. The List will be displayed with their total costs. If you want to change all the Item costs associated with one of those totals, just click on the total and change the cost. If you answer yes to the prompt, then all the Items will be changed by a percentage method.
Note: If you want to change a selected group of items within one of the total costs then:
o. Go to a Summary List first.
o. Move to a line with a cost and select Cross Reference off the Tools Menu.
o. Tag only the Items to be changed.
o. Go back to the Summary List and change the cost.
o. When asked, answer to change just the tagged items.
