The Tools menu contains many powerful commands. Many of these tools may be activated by just pressing a shortcut key which can be found by pressing the Key Guide SHIFT+F2 key or listed beside the menu selections below.
The Tools Menu will allow you to:
Lists A complete "choice list" is available on any applicable column. Move to a column where you need a list of choices and activate this selection by pressing Enter or press the List key F7 to use this feature.
Use After going to a list to select a Code to Use (pullback) into the underlying List, then use this command. A faster way is the press the Use Key F8.
Edit a Form Use this when you are on an Item in the Bid Item List or Price Book Item List and want to see all the Item’s information.
Cross Ref The cross reference tool is used on a summary Lists such as Division, Subdivision, Budgets, Types, etc. It is very helpful to see what items make up a particular cost.
Calculator This can be used as an on-line calculator. When finished with the calculation, you can Use (pullback) the results into an underlying column if it is a numeric type column.
Find The find feature allows many ways to locate information in any column. You may enter a Partial Description.
Find Next Use this command to jump to the next matching record according to the search criteria. It is not necessary if you have a "Show Only Found" mode activated.
Sort When in most columns, you can change the sort order.
Options/Preferences This will set many "User Preferences" to customize your system.
