Custom Report List

 

 

 

The Custom Report List shows all of your Custom Reports, regardless of whether they are Bid Reports, Price Book Reports, or Quick Print Reports. The Custom Report List is available from the Reports menu only if you have the Custom Report Designer.

 

On the Custom Report List, you can:

* Change the Description of Custom Reports

* Enter the Descriptions for new Reports or Report Headers you want to add

* Delete Reports you no longer need

* Re-arrange the order which the Reports are shown

* Select a Report and go to the Report Form to test, edit, or print it

 

Each of these possibilities is explained below:

 

To Change a Report’s Description, just highlight the Description and type in the new Description. The Description shown here is only used in this Report List and in the three Report dialog boxes (Bid Reports, Price Book Reports, and Quick Print); it does not change the title or contents of the Report. You will need to edit the Report Design in order to change what is actually in the Report. (See below.)

 

To Enter Descriptions for New Reports or Report Headers, select the Report above which you want to insert the new Report, and choose Insert Record from the Edit menu. Then type the Description into the Description column. If you want to make a "Report Header", that is, a label for a series of Reports which is not a Report itself, just type it like a normal Description. To make the Report Header stand out, put asterisks (***) before and after it. To see Report Headers in action, go to the Bid Reports dialog box. After you add a new Report Description, be sure to fill in the Report Type(s), as explained next.

 

To Change the Report Type(s), just type into the Reports Type(s) field. The Report Types are B for Bid Report, P for Price Book Report, and Q for Quick Print. Any Report can be combination of the three types. The Report Type only determines which of the three Report dialog boxes (Bid Reports, Price Book Reports, and Quick Print) the Report will be shown it. If the Report Type(s) column is blank, the Report will appear anywhere except in the Custom Report List and Report Form!

 

To Delete a Report, just highlight the Report and select Delete Record from the Edit menu.

 

To Re-Arrange the Order Which the Reports Are Shown, move the records in the list. You move a single Report up or down a line using the Move Record Up (Ctrl+Up) and Move Record Down (Ctrl+Down) key. To move more than one Report at a time to anywhere in the list: (1) tag all the Reports you want to move, (2) highlight the Report you want the tagged Reports to appear before, and (3) select Move Tagged Records from the Tag menu.

 

To Test, Edit, or Print a Specific Report, highlight the Report you want to work with, and then press the Details (F9) key. The Report Form will appear. Here, can Print, Preview, or Design the Report, as well as changing the Description, Report Type(s), and Memo for the Report. See Report Form for more information.
