A Bid is another name for a quote or estimate to do a specified project. It consists of all the Bid Items and related information such as the values for Markups (taxes, overhead, burdens). This organizes and identifies your estimates by Bid Code and Description.
When you start a new Bid, you create a file for it and may assign it a Bid Code and a Description. Saving it adds it to the Bid List. After this, Items may be placed into the bid.
Bid Templates
When starting a new bid, you may check the box "Base this on what existing Bid Code", if you feel another Bid (template) is much like the new bid. You can then type in a Bid Code and the program will copy Bid Items from that bid to the new bid. This is useful if you have several items you use in every bid you create.
