The Item Code identifies an item in the Price Book or Bid. You may enter up to 99 Divisions (00 to 99) followed by a decimal. Then enter a Subdivision Code from 0 to 9 followed by a two digit (recommended) Item Code between 00 to 99; for instance, Code 8.301 belongs in Division Code 8, Subdivision Code 8.3 and 01 is the Item within that Subdivision.

If you don't assign an Item Code to an Item Description, then the system will assign blank a Code. Later, you may "place" it in the right Subdivision. You may enter a different number in the Part Number Column or Miscellaneous Column if this system doesn't match yours.
