Moving Around the Screen

Mouse We recommend using a Mouse. Just move it and press the left button to click on any part of the screen or the right button for a help suggestion list.

Arrow Keys Use arrow keys you can move to any column or line when using the Keyboard.

Menu Words Each Menu has Key Words which have a different underlined letter. Just press that letter if you are on a menu. Some menu choices (if designated to the right of the keyword) may be used without going to the menu by holding the Ctrl key down while touching a letter. Press the Key Guide key SHIFT+F2 at any time to see the shortcut keys.

While in a View, the following may be available:

ESC  In general, pressing this key will cancel the current entry, move from the view you are in to the last view. The Bid Item List will always remain on the screen.

Close On a window, in the top left corner, is a box. If you click on the box once, you will have a display of choices. If you double click on that box when using Windows 3.1, the window will close. Under Windows 95, choose Close from the list of choices.

Minimize On some views in the top right hand corner, are a few boxes. The box with the down arrow (or, for Windows 95, a flat line) will make the whole window very small. Double click on that "Icon" to make it large again.

Maximize On some views in the top right hand corner, are a few boxes. The box with the up arrow (or, for Windows 95, a line at the top of the window) will make the whole window fit the size of your screen.

Custom size On a window in the top right hand corner, are a few boxes. The box with both the down and up arrows (or, for Windows 95, two overlapping squares) will display a window smaller than the full screen allowing you to grab the borders and drag them to the size you want.

Scroll Bars When ever a view has more records (lines) or columns then can be seen in a view, vertical and horizontal elevator bars will appear. There is a box (elevator) in the bar. Place the mouse cursor on top of the box, hold the left mouse button down and drag the box up or down to move the records (lines) in the list. Release the button at any time.

Moving

Columns You may move columns around in a list by dragging (holding down the left mouse button while moving the mouse) the column headings.

Resizing

Columns If you drag (see above) the vertical lines between the headings, the column will be resized only for displaying purposes. This will not increase the number of characters you can enter into a column.

Toolbar You may use the Icons on the Toolbar below the Main Menu as one-button commands.
