How to Use Scheduling

Scheduling allows you to schedule your Bids. Each Budget in your Bid should be built so as to represent a single Activity to be done in carrying out your Bid. (We will use the word "Activity" when referring to a Budget used to schedule an activity.) For instance, a Budget could be set up for "Foundation concrete", and its scheduled Activity would be "Pour Foundation Concrete."

Each Activity is assigned a given number of days to accomplish, and proper ordering (like a critical path). You decide which Activities are critical, and in what order they must be performed. Critical Activities are scheduled to occur in one-after-the-other. Other non-critical Activities are scheduled to occur in parallel with the critical Activities. Based on a list of weekend days and holidays, the start and finish days can automatically be assigned. You may also change the Start Dates and Duration’s manually.

When you are finished with a schedule, you may report it and/or export it to a scheduling program. EasyEst Estimating can export to Milestones Simplicity/Special Edition, and Milestones Etc. EasyEst Estimating can also write to comma-delimited or tab-delimited ASCII files, which can be read by many scheduling, spreadsheet, database, and word processing programs.
