Scheduling Information Dialog

The Scheduling Information dialog box allows you to enter general scheduling information to apply to all Activities in this Bid. Each Bid has a completely different set of scheduling information. (If you use the same scheduling information again and again, you may wish to set that up in a Bid Template so it is automatically set for each new Bid you create.)

To get to the Scheduling Information dialog box, select Scheduling... from the Bid menu.

The Scheduling Information dialog contains these fields and command buttons:

Start Date Starting date for first Activity in this Bid. If this date falls on a weekend or holiday, the Activity’s Start Date will be pushed forward accordingly. The Start Date is recorded in the Bid Information Form when you have a Bid.

Weekends Check the days of the week which will not be worked.

Holidays Enter the dates for holidays which will be taken off. The dates are entered as numbers in MM/DD/YY format (or whatever international format you have selected on the Windows International Settings Control Panel), and are separated by commas or semicolons. They do not have to be in chronological order. Note that the month, day and year must be entered explicitly.

Reschedule All (button)

Pressing the Reschedule All button immediately auto-schedules the current Bid’s Activities, based on the scheduling information entered into this dialog box. Warning: This cannot be undone or canceled afterward. You may, however, reschedule again if you later change your mind. You may also manually change the scheduling of any Activities you want.

If you change the Start Date, Weekends or Holidays and do not press this button, you will be asked if you want to reschedule when you press OK to leave the dialog box.

Finish Date Finish Date for entire Bid schedule. Computed automatically when you auto-schedule or manually change the schedule. You may also change it here. The Finish Date is also recorded when you save a Bid in its Bid Information Form.

Target Date This is the goal for the Finish Date, as entered by you. It is also stored (and changeable) in the Bid Information Form.

OK

(button) Press OK when you have finished changing the scheduling information, and want to save your changes. If you have changed anything without auto-rescheduling (by pressing the Reschedule All button), you will be asked if you want to reschedule. If you answer yes, the Bid will be auto-scheduled. If you answer no, no changes will be made to the Bid’s Activities. In either case, the new weekends and holidays will be recorded, and any Activities you change will not be scheduled on those days.

Cancel

(button) Press the Cancel to cancel any changes you’ve made to the Scheduling Information after you entered the dialog box, or pressed the Reschedule All button, whichever was more recent.
