Bid Menu

 

 

 

 The Bid Menu will allow you to:

 

Select Items from Price Book for Bid

 Bring up Item Selection to choose Price Book Items to be included in your Bid.

 

Select Items by Assembly

 Assemblies are to quickly locate related Items.

 

Select Items by Super Assembly

 Super Assemblies are groups of Assemblies.

 

Select Items by Bid/Work Package...

 Use all the Items in a Bid as a Work Package, optionally multiplying all quantities by a factor.

 

Bid Item List This is the list of Items in the Bid. It is your "home" base screen where most of your work will be done. If you don’t see it displayed, then click on this selection.

 

 The Bid Item List can only show a few columns. A Form will show all the information. This is the best place to see all the information contained in a Item. You may even want both displayed at the same time.

 

Bid List This is a list of your Bids. You may rename, copy, delete or choose a Bid from this list.

 

Bid Information Form  Allows you to enter more information about each Bid, such as its Address, Supervisors Name, Bid Due Date, etc.

 

Bid Category List  Group Bids by background and font colors - Visually locate a past bid by type of job

 

Answer Questions

 This is a very powerful feature which helps to automate the bidding process.

 

Change Markups Change your bid by applying percentages to the costs.

 

Schedule... Change scheduling information (such as Start Date, Weekends and Holidays) for this Bid, and optionally auto-schedule this Bid.

 

Update Items to/from Price Book

 Allows you to copy the current, tagged, or all Items back and forth between the Bid Items and the Price Book. You may update just costs or all the information in the Item.

 

Save Item to Price Book

 Copies current Bid Item or Item Selection Worksheet Item to the Price Book Items, replacing any existing Item with the same Code (or, if the Code is blank, one with no Code and the same Description). This is an easier way to save one Item to the Price Book than using Update Items to/from Price Book.

 

Renumber Bid Items

 This will renumber all the items and place these numbers in order in the Bid Sequence column. This "audit Trail" allows you to return to that column and re-sort the Bid Items in the original before you sorted by another column.

 

Auto-Calculate Totals

 Hundreds of calculations are being done each time you change a cost. If this takes too long then toggle this on/off by clicking on it. Use recalculate below to then get a total when necessary.

 

Recalculate Recalculates current Bid from scratch. ALWAYS use this tool before giving a quote, and then carefully check all calculations and look for any omissions.

 

Change Totals... Change the Bid Total Cost or Total Price by changing the costs of all tagged Bid Items.

 

Show Only Modified Costs

 Anytime you change a cost in a Bid Item List, it becomes modified in that bid until you update them from the master Price Book in the Costing Menu. This choice will show you which items if any are modified in your Bid.

 

Memo A memo or note can be placed with each Bid Item or other record (e.g., Price Book Items, Cost Types, Bids, Budgets, etc.).
